Lately, I have been obsessed with mother nature network (mnn.com). Articles, ideas, and aids to help even the most environmentally challenged person in helping improve our world (this means me). The amount of waste we sustain every year is not only repulsing, but also devastating. I remember coming home my mission and being shocked my the amount of water in the toilet. Sadly, I have also got into the habit of being wasteful and ungrateful in my life. How many times have we heard the phrase "life is a gift?" I think that we fail to realize that our planet was also a gift and we abuse it almost everyday. By making some small changes, or maybe big ones, not only can we help improve our environment and treat it as the gift which we were all given, but we also help to encourage our children to do the same. Mother Nature Network, posed some goals that I am attempting to do. Wanna join me?
I am going to do a chemical/toxin audit of my home
I will actually use my reusable bags
I will eat more meals at home
I will get my kids (and myself!) outside more this year
I will make my home more energy-efficient by 2011
I will read three environmentally themed books this year
I will recycle my old electronics & not throw them away before I buy any new gadgets
I will support my local and green businesses this year
I will walk one place each week instead of driving there
