A lot of water or ... I'm in trouble.

Yesterday I had my every two week doctor's visit for the baby. Needless to say (yes I am going to complain) I have been struggling. Since about the fifth month, I have felt like I did with Ava right before she was born. My back kills, I can't move by the end of the day, and I feel like he should be coming any day. Since my sonogram to see if the baby was a boy a girl, I have been measuring a week bigger then the due suggests. So right now I am measuring 36 1/2 weeks when the due sate says I should be only 35. Clear as mud? I always told my doctor that I felt as if I should be much further along then I am. Well yesterday at her office, as we were talking about whether to try and deliver natural again or get the "thank you shot" I asked her how big the baby was. She said, "well you either have a lot of water or he is a really big baby. We went on to talk with the doctor and she suggested that next Tuesday we do a sonogram to see how big the baby is and if he is really big, then we would strip my membranes (ouch). She made the point that babies gain 1/2 a week the last month and so if he is eight lbs, by the time he is born he could well be over 10 lbs. I dunno know about you, but I really really really don't want to deliver a baby that big. Cross your fingers it is just all water!

    1. Your back kills because your kidneys are low functioning. Get some Happy Backs from www.Herbalogie.com or go to Sunshine and get a really good kidney formula. Take 3 pills 3 X a day. Also, eat a medium watermelon within an hour and you will notice a huge difference. Drink a lot of water. If you have had any swelling, that will go down as your kidneys improve. Include a lot of grapes in your diet in addition to watermelon.

    2. Measuring 1.5 inches more is nothing. DOn't even sweatit.

    3. Birthing a 10 pound baby hurts just as much as birthing a 7 pound baby. It's the head circumference that can be the kicker, and that cannot be measured. I've seen huge heads on little babies. If your caregiver has half a brain there are no increased risks to delivering a bigger baby anyway. If your caregiver doesn't have half a brain, she will be scared to catch a big baby.

    4. Remember your sweet birth with Ava. It was worth the wait and you had a choice Spirit in that home with you. Waiting patiently and gracefully is an investment and you will learn many things if "thou endure it well". Let God give you the blessings he has waiting to hand you.

I love you. I'm serious about being your phone doula. call me.

  3. I am thinking WET thoughts for you, Although ten pound babie boys come out with a tie and a missionary badge already attached ie... They look like little mini-men.
Hopefully a little Japanese mini man, cause Ava sure was precious all dark and creamy!!
Good luck and lots of love from us!!

  4. You will LOVE the "thank you shot" and do it for all of the women that wished they had it back in the day. Seriously, take advantage of the time you're living in...that is a huge blessing! We are crossing our fingers that it is just water, but no worries...Hayden was 9 lbs. 6 oz. and c-section for me! =D I'll probably opt for this next time anyway- not having to deal with those labor pains- works for me! We can't wait to meet this sweet spirit!
